    General NewsThe AALR convened leaders of organizations that primarily serve the African American community for a Leadership Roundtable Summit on 7/24/07. A Community Calendar was one initiative all agreed upon. Organizations are invited to submit entries for the calendar, e.g. dates and contact info for annual banquets, major fund raisers, seminars, etc. The public is invited to check the calendar for upcoming events.     On September 28th, the African-American Leadership Roundtable (AALR) hosted a political forum at Benedictine University. Seven local politicians were involved in the discussion, each addressing issues that have shaped the Nov. 7 state elections, including healthcare reform, environmental awareness, education, local economic development and the national debt.
